Franz Joseph Haydn

Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809), Austrian composer. "the Father of Symphony", Born in Rohrau, Austria, March 31, 1732; died in Vienna, May 31, 1809. Had the first music lesson at age of 8, a Choir boy in Vienna. From 1761 he served as court music director for Esterhazy. He composed: operas,107 symphonies, concertos(violin, piano,cello), oratorios, masses, string quartets, keyboard trios, keyboard sonatas, and other chamber music
